Baraha Orchestra: A Musical Celebration of Football Classics

The Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra (QPO) is teaming up with Msheireb Downtown Doha to bring an exciting open-air concert series called Baraha Orchestra.

This event will take place on January 26 and 27, coinciding with the rest days of the AFC Asian Cup tournament. The concert, titled “Football Classics,” is scheduled for this weekend at 7pm.

Under the baton of conductor Johannes Vogel, the Baraha Orchestra will take the audience on a 90-minute musical journey that combines the passion of football with the rich Gulf folk traditions. The program  for “Football Classics” includes a selection of iconic compositions that will surely resonate with both football enthusiasts and music lovers. Some of the featured pieces include Ricky Martin’s “La Copa de la Vita,” Shakira’s “Waka Waka,” and John Williams’ “Star Wars – Main Title.”

In addition to these popular hits, the concert will also showcase other remarkable compositions. The audience will have the opportunity to enjoy Alan Menken’s “Suite from Aladdin,” Falco’s “Rock me Amadeus, Amadeus,” and a traditional Qatari piece called “Haya Haya.” The programme will also include a suite from James Bond 007, composed by John Barry, as well as Joey Tempest’s “Final Countdown” and Elmer Bernstein’s “The Magnificent Seven (Theme).”
